Welcome to Shawn's Rideshare:

My name is Shawn, and I am providing a weekly door-to-door rideshare service from the Bay Area (which includes the South Bay, Upper/Lower Peninsula, East Bay and North Bay) to Southern Oregon (which includes Ashland, Talent, Phoenix and Medford) on a weekly basis.

The purpose of beginning Shawn’s Rideshare arose because of the lack of affordable and reliable transportation alternatives available to those who travel between Southern Oregon and the Bay Area, in which case, I am employed in the Bay Area and my family resides in Southern Oregon.

Because of the frequent mileage of commuting between Southern Oregon and the Bay Area, I solely rent late model vehicles (2009/2010) from a reputable Bay Area Toyota dealership, as opposed to driving my personally owned vehicle. This further ensures a comfortable, yet more importantly, a safe and reliable rideshare experience. Depending upon the number of rideshare participants, the vehicles which I often rent are either the Toyota Highlander or the Toyota Sienna.

Bay Area Departure/Southern Oregon Arrival time on Friday, will be at 6PM, originating from the Peninsula.  Departure time for all other Bay Area communities (or communities outside the Bay Area) will vary depending upon location.  Estimated arrival time to Southern Oregon is at 1AM.  Confirmation phone calls will take place the evening before departure.

Southern Oregon Departure/Bay Area Arrival time on Sunday, will be be at 6PM (door-to-door pick-ups will take place between 4PM - 6PM).  Estimated arrival time to the Bay Area is between 11PM - 1AM.  Confirmation phone calls will take place the evening before departure.

Requested donation for rideshare transportation service is as follows:
$40 / Person (One-Way)
$80 / Person (Round-Trip)

With respect to the "asking donation" of $40 one way / $80 round-trip (per person), the breakdown of the donation is calculated as being a break-even point. The donation amount each person contributes helps cover the expense of renting the vehicle and the fuel expenditure. The expense associated to different sized vehicles (based upon how many people are traveling in any one direction), can vary accordingly.

Luggage Restrictions:
The vehicles which are utilized for the rideshare are designed for passenger transportation service (as opposed to hauling cargo).  Two medium sized bags (or a single large bag) and a carry-on are suitable per person.

Pet Friendly:
Pets are welcome to participate in the ride-share, so long as they are "travel friendly," and are capable of sitting on your lap (or on the floorboard between your feet) through the duration of the ride-share.
